Jubilee Year of Hope
Pope Francis has declared 2025 as a Jubilee Year of Hope – a special time for the Church to renew faith, deepen hope, and celebrate God’s endless love and mercy. A Jubilee is a time of joy, pilgrimage, forgiveness and new beginnings, inviting all of us to draw closer to God and to one another.
As a school, we are marking this holy year through prayer, worship, acts of service, and learning about what it means to live as people of hope. We warmly invite all our families to join us in celebrating this important year together.
Ways to Celebrate the Jubilee Year of Hope at Home
Here are some simple, meaningful ways your family can take part:
-
Create a “Hope Space” at home
Set up a small prayer area with a candle, cross, Bible or a symbol of hope (like a rainbow or dove). Take a few moments each week to pray together as a family, offering prayers of thanks and hope for the future. -
Read and reflect together
Choose a short piece of Scripture each week that focuses on hope (e.g., Psalm 27:1, Jeremiah 29:11, Romans 15:13). Talk together about what it means and how it can guide you in daily life. -
Keep a Family “Hope Journal”
Encourage each family member to write or draw something they are hopeful for each week. It could be a prayer, a dream, or something they are thankful for. -
Acts of Hope and Kindness
Find small ways to bring hope to others — send a kind message, visit a neighbour, donate to a charity, or take part in a parish or school initiative. -
Join Parish or School Liturgies
Come along to Masses, liturgies and celebrations connected to the Jubilee Year. Your presence is a powerful witness of faith for your children. -
Pray the Jubilee Prayer as a family
The Jubilee Prayer is a beautiful way to unite with Catholics around the world. You might choose to pray it at bedtime, before meals, or as part of your family’s weekly worship.
